LHC Outlaws ‘Two-Finger Test’ Virginity Testing For Rape Victims

Lahore High Court on 4 January outlawed the Hymen test (Two finger test) for rape victims. Judge Ayesha A Malik declared the practice old, illegal, and a violation of women’s rights.

This practice was used to examine the victim and is practiced in many countries. The alternative method to virginity test could be Rape Kit and other Forensics values. Many celebrities on social media hailed the LHC decision and called it a “Good Move”.

Despite the court’s decision and strong remarks from the judge, the Two-finger test is still legal in Pakistan (except for rape victims) and can be used to determine whether the girl is Virgin or not.
