Vulgarity is the reason behind rise in violance against women, says UNICEF

A report published this year by the American Psychological Association (APA) and was shared by UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) the USA is the same as Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s controversial statement which allegedly objectifies women clothing for rape. Pakistani PM’s statement has created a mess in Pakistan and Western media. Even her ex-wife Jemima was seen criticizing the Prime Minister.

The APA (American Psychological Association) research states that “The objectification and vulgarity of women on the media through revealing clothes and depicting sexually by bodily postures and facial expression tempting sexual readiness in the society, which directly link to sexual violence or rapes against women worldwide”.

The study further reveals that the startling facts and figures that 51.8 percent of advertisements that featured a woman portrayed them as Sex Objects. However, when a woman appears in an advertisement in men’s magazines, they were objectified more than 76 percent of the time.

Apart from this, Washington Post‘s research revealed that the provocation of clothes and dressing is a cause of the rise in sexual violence, rape, and harassment against women.

It is not the first time when researchers have stated Vulgarity as a reason behind Rape. But, there is a group that always keeps denying the fact.
